Ajo, AZ to Playa de Oro, Puerto Peñasco

Beautiful drive with amazing scenery, particularly the Organ Pipe cactus!

Easy peasy at the Mexican border. Just read out our first names on the passport and waved us on!

The ocean!!!!

Settled in with Chris and Shawn next to us. We also went to the store to pick up groceries/refreshments. 1.75 litres Vodka was 109.00 pesos, or $5.45 US$!!!! 1litre of white wine was 40.00 pesos, or $2.00 US$.

Puerto Peñasco via Ajo, Arizona

The "Four Amigos" all ready to head to Mexico.

Crossed the Colarado River and into Arizona.

Some of our "peeps" know of this place.

Some pretty cool rock formations on the way to Ajo, AZ.

Checked in to Shadow Ridge RV Park, in Ako, AZ, 40 minutes north of the border.

Palm Springs here we come!

Rise and Shine! Got up and picked fresh oranges right off the orange tree.

Left for Palm Springs at 8:00 but had ugly, weird weather to the Mojave desert. Totail fog going to Mojave, around 100' visibility...actually very tense.

Sunshine at Mojave Desert!

Drive down mountain into Coachella Valley was awesome. Huge wind turbines!

Arrived! Julie and Lil' Betty are very tired! Lil' Betty had to have a shower after being pulled 1,400 miles.

Arrived at 1:15

Third Leg - Orange Grove RV Park - Bakersfield, CA

Left Red Bluff at 8:00 a.m. And still cloudy and rain! Ugh!

Finally cleared up after and temperature went to 23 Celsius!! Took a picture of the first palm tree we saw, and wouldn't ya know it....didn't see the sign post coming!! You couldn't time it this way if ya tried!

Fueling up with the big boys!

The best highway sign ever!!!

Arrived Orange Grove RV Resort at 4:00. Love being between rows and rows of the most juiciest oranges, fresh off the tree!

The oranges look like glowing bulbs on a Christmas tree at night!

So excited for our arrival in Palm Springs early tomorrow afternoon!

Off to Durango RV Resort, Red Bluff, CA

Beautiful morning! Left at 8:00 a.m.

Siskiyou Pass was a breeze!!! Julie chugged along slowly but she had a big smile when she reached the summit!

4 minutes later we cross into California!

Blue skies!

Ugh!!!! Mount Shasta area was an ugly druve to the Durango RV Park (where they served up "Shitty WIFI")

Arrived at RV Park at 3:45. Hooked up and food/booze run at the grocery store conveniently 4 minute walk away! Love California prices: 40 oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum - $19.99! 40 oz Smirnoff - $12.99!

And we're off!!

Windshield on truck (Lil' Betty) was totally covered with ice!!! Started Julie up, raised the jacks but the air bags wouldn't fill to rise the coach. Tried for half hour but no luck. About to jump in the truck to drive into town to get cell service. Tried one more time and she rose! Phew!!!

Froggy was just-a-swinging in the front.

All smooth ride and arrived at Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort at 3:15. Steve used the exercise room while Dave tackled with the friggin cables but finally got all three TV's working.

Did a load of laundry and settled in for the night.

Hee Hee Illahee RV Park by Salem, Durango RV Park in northernish California, Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield, then arrive in Cathedral Palms.
