Got an early start and left at 8:00 a.m.
Took a different route home this time. Instead of the Mojave desert to Bakersfield and then H 99 to Sacramento, we did Mojave south of Bakersfield then north on I-5. Passed this place that must have had over a million cows/cattle. Actually kind of gross.
Made it to our first RV Park around 3:00. Checked in to Kit Fox RV Park in Patterson, CA which is around 50 minutes south of Stockton.
Day 2 - March 24, 2017
Departed at 7:50 a.m. to an ugly start to the day. Get used to it!
As I said before, he has over 40 shirts and 10 caps and he chose to wear this! Seriously? Didn't notice until well into the trip. Gotta remind him that he no longer is a bus driver. Wonder what people thought as they drove by because I had to lay across the dash to take the picture!
Driving through Sacramento (capital of California), the water tower looked liked a giant alien!
Very scary around Mt. Shasta with all the snow as we thought they might shut the highway down.
Just have to show the rainbow trucks near Weed. The colours look good in the snow.
Nice weather once we got over the Mt. Shasta pass.
Not as much snow on the Siskiyou Pass even though the summit is higher.
Arrived at Jack's Landing RV Park in Grants Pass at 3:00. Nice park, in town and easy and short access from the highway.
Day 3 - March 25, 2017
Headed out at 7:50 a.m. Still cloudy and intermittent rain. Passing through Portland, this gondola passes overhead.
Doesn't it look like a lot of fun! Even if you gave me $1,000,000 I would not get on it!
Okay, is anyone looking for a fixer-upper? I am sure we can get it for a good price.
Arrived at Brookhaven RV Park in Kelso, WA at 2:00 p.m.
Day 4 - March 26, 2017
Still raining as we left. Like I said, get use to it.
Got to the Vedder bridge at 1:20 and home at 1:45 p.m. Looks like they are well on their way with the new bridge, but it won't be completed unti October.
Feels good to be home!
