Salton Sea

On the way back from FOY, stopped at the Salton Sea to dry camp one night.

Julie, Rexy and Alexis are getting along pretty good!

That is not sand. It's all crushed barnacles and will shred you runners and flip-flops. Wore my boots to walk to the sea.

Disgusting! From the highway it looks like it is blue but up close you see what it really looks like. Smelly too!

Tilapia live in the sea but leave smelly carcasses behind. Ugh!

Time to sit back, relax and enjoy the sun.

There's always time for a cocktail!

Beautiful sunset with the gang!

The wind really picked up so partied in Julie.

Fountain of Youth

Decided to do a 2 day excursion to FOY with the gang

Quick break along the way. Dogs needed a walk.

We have arrived!

Rick got a premium site with a BBQ, fire ring, gazebo, table and chairs. Pretty nice for only $10.00 more than our gravel pad with nothing!

Good view of the chocolate mountains. They look like chocolate flowing down.

Laying back and soaking up the sun!

Interesting cactus.

Joey and Lucy having fun on the teeter totter at the dog park.

Soaking up the sun and watching water volleyball.

So is FOY working on Steve? Maybe need to stay under the water for another 10 minutes.

Another nice view.

Beautiful sunset looking over the Salton Sea.

Off to dry camp one night at the Salton Sea.

Day trip to Idyllwild

The four of us decided to do a day trip to Idyllwild. Around 1.5 hrs up into the mountains at 6,000 feet!

The road winds its way all the way up as it is not a gradual climb.

Was only 48F once we arrived. Cold but a really neat village to walk around.

Lots of little shops.

Pandas, Pandas and more Pandas!!

They even have a Town Crier! How cool is that!

What a goof!!

Stopped in for a burger and beer. Most delicious mushroom Swiss cheese burger!

What a huge beautiful carving in town centre.

Time for a few pics from the vista on the way home.

If you look close you can see the road twisting and turning.

Photo bomb. A good one I must say!

Out for a walk

Hot day for a walk! Steve decided to skip the gym today and go for a long walk.

Outside the RV Park as we head out.

Steve pointing out his gym. He LOVES this gym.

One of the many Cathedral City statues throughout the city. Each city has their own as you enter their limits.

Did a good 2 hour walk!
